Could this be you? FTTA student celebrates her final assessment and is now ready and prepared for a long and rewarding career in her chosen school. Well done!

There are 2 main teacher aide courses that will provide you with the qualification, skills and knowledge that you need to work as an effective teacher aide in a local Sunshine Coast school:

  1. the CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support, and
  2. the CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support.

Let’s look at what each of these nationally recognised teacher aide courses cover so that you can decide which option is best for you and your goals:

  • the CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support is the entry-level teacher aide course that equips graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in mainstream classrooms under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Graduates work with students with additional needs as well as students who simply need support for various reasons.
  • the higher-level specialist course, the CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support, provides graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to work with Sunshine Coast students with special needs. Students with special needs include pupils with one or more disabilities or disorders such as FASD, ODD, ASD, ADHD and a range of other neurological, learning, and physical disabilities.

FTTA offers both the Certificate III and Certificate IV government funded teacher aide courses to residents of the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas from $50 (concessional co-contribution course fee) and $100 for standard enrolments (co-contribution course fee). The rest of your course fee is paid for by the Queensland state government directly to FTTA so all you need to worry about is finishing your course and finding your perfect job as a teacher aide on the Sunshine Coast!

Students can access live webinars facilitated by our expert trainers and guest lecturers, watch videos and past recordings, read learner guides and e-books, and complete their theory assessments for a quick and efficient turn-around so you can keep moving to the next topic. FTTA’s online learning portal has been built inhouse specifically for FTTA students – and FTTA students alone have access – another reason why our completion rate is 3x the national average according to government statistics (NCVER 2018 data slicer).
