Entry requirements

No qualifications or experience required.


Conduct play activities with children, cleaning tasks, care for children such as changing nappies.


Candidates will need access to a computer with an internet connection, basic desktop applications such as Microsoft Office or OpenOffice, a pdf reader, headphones or speakers. Some courses may require additional technologies.


Candidates will need basic computer skills to write simple documents, watch lectures and other such tasks.


Candidates will need basic numeracy skills to count, add and subtract.


Candidates will need suitable language skills in order to work with a range of people from different backgrounds, complete short answer questions on basic topics relevant to the course, create documents and read simple text such as incident reports.


The calendar year in which the candidate turns 16.


Candidates will need to obtain clearances as part of this course such as police checks and/or WWCC.

Placement

120 hours minimum in a registered and approved school such as a high school or primary school. Placements can be completed in a block or over a period of time such as 1-2 shifts per week.
